Twenty-two repeat selections are among the 43 players named to the 2005 academic all-Great West Football Conference team.

The team was selected by sports information directors, coaches and administrators from the six league members. To be eligible, a player must have a 3.2 cumulative grade point average, including the fall term; be in at least his second year at the member institution (first-year freshmen and first-year transfers are not eligible) and must be a starter or key reserve.

The repeat selections include two seniors who completed their eligibility with perfect straight A 4.00 grade point averages, Northern Colorado safety Reed Doughty and South Dakota State senior Mitch Klein.

The 2005 academic all-Great West Football Conference team includes 19 who earned all-conference honors as players (x indicates players on the all-Great West Football Conference team as players - either first team, second team, or honorable mention).

Players listed in bold face are repeat selections from the 2004 academic all-conference team.
